How to send automated emails via SendGrid

Please note that in the current release, the app only supports contact-based HubSpot workflows and transactional emails. These limitations are going to be removed in future updates.

  1. In a HubSpot Workflow, add one of the SendGrid Connector actions, like “Send transactional email”.

  2. Select one of your existing SendGrid dynamic templates (read the official SendGrid docs to learn how to use them) and a Sender for your emails.

In case your dynamic template has more versions, the Active one will be used.

Currently, the automated action will automatically trigger substitutions in your SendGrid template for First Name and Last Name HubSpot properties only.

This limitation was necessary for development purposes and will be removed in future releases, allowing custom substitution mapping.

Be sure to use {{firstname}} and {{lastname}} as the only placeholders in your SendGrid Dynamic templates as in the following example.
