Warning

If you click on the Google Sheets icon in the embedded viewer, the application may crash. Please refresh your browser page if this occurs. We are aware of this issue but since it is caused by a limitation of the Google platform it can’t be fixed at the moment.

Retrieve the URL

  • From the Share menu in Google Docs
Set the privacy to “Anyone with the link” and copy the link. If you want the embedded file to be in “view only” mode, select “Viewer” from the dropdown menu to the right.

Note

When you restrict the link permissions from editor to viewer, anyone who is not the owner of the Google Docs file will no longer be able to change the permissions.

  • Directly from the address bar
When you’re navigating the document in your browser, copy the URL from the address bar. This link will contain the same settings you have already set in the Share menu.

  • Publishing to the web
If you want to embed the document without the editor interface, publish the file and copy the link from the publishing menu.
